clean cotton, sheer freshness, the smell of nana’s laundry room on a sunday afternoon

We know not to show up without an empty stomach. It does take preparation in fact, to prepare for an event such as Nana’s House. Showered  in food and love. That’s two of the many things my Nana is capable of. The list goes on and on. Between the feasts, whether it's Linguine and Clam sauce (I don't plan on making this a scent) or her famous Pesto Pasta, or even the antipasto, you may be lucky enough to catch a moment with the chef. I usually find my moments in the laundry room where the smell is almost as good as the cooking. The moments I spend here are not what you think they may be… I am most definitely not doing laundry in between meals. But I am in fact stealing cookies or whatever dessert is placed on top of the washer wrapped up ever so nicely to prevent intruders. Yes, I am almost sure my Nana knows I am an intruder, she is just as guilty as me by sneaking me biscotti's before dessert. I wonder who I get it from… All that aside, I find comfort in the scent of fresh linen because that laundry room is where I feel at home and I am lucky enough it gets to be with my Nana.
